Seamus A. Ryan
- Born London, UK 1964
No formal photographic education. Attended workshops with John Blakemore and Fay Godwin. Learned to print from Peter Cattrell, Fay Godwin's printer and landscape photographer in his own right, and Melvin Cambettie Davies, award winning printer at the Master Mono lab. Taking a saying from his computer days, now thankfully behind him, "keep it simple, stupid" he uses one camera (Horseman LX 5x4), one lens (150mm), one film (Polaroid type 55 Pos/Neg) and one paper (Kodak Ektalure, now sadly discontinued). He doesnt subscribe to the idea of titling his pictures beyond the obvious and he rarely works in color.
